He married Marianne Mayberry at Washington, Warren County, NJ, on 27 November 1976. He resided at Changewater, Warren County, NJ, USA, in 1992. James Nelson Hotchkin died on 27 November 2018 at Hackettstown, Warren County, NJ, USA, at age 69.

The registration card gave additional information on him: "He gives his age as 19, born 8 Feb 1889. He is a student at Mass. Institute of Tech in Cambridge, MA. He gives W. R. Hotchkin as nearest relative at 182 Clarmont, Montclair. He signs the Registration as J. Rowland Hotchkin.". He married Betty Beggs at NJ, USA, on 10 October 1931. James Rowland Hotchkin died on 9 March 1967 at Short Hills, Essex County, NJ, USA, at age 68.³ He was buried at Mount Hebron Cemetery, at Montclair, Essex County, NJ, USA.

The registration card gave additional information on him: "He gives his age as 43, born 5 aug 1875. He says that he is a farmer working himself and gives his wife Ida M. as nearest relative.". He died on 11 August 1953 at Webb Nursing Home, Lockport, Niagara County, NY, USA, at age 78. Lockport Union Sun- "James W.      James was born on 3 August 1875 in Illinois and was brought by his parents to Coomer Rd., Newfane when he was 2 years old. The 1900 census wrongly says that he was born in NY. Their grand daughter Caralyn Hotchkin Welsh says that she remembered hugh Thanksgiving Day dinners at their home on Coomer Rd in Newfane, NY. She says that they were jolly people, especially Ida, and they had many good friends who joined them for dinner and cards. Caralyn remembers family members bringing food to these dinners and the many desserts of pie, cakes and jello.

     James Ward Hotchkin Jr. was born on 22 May 1929 at Lansing, Ingham County, MI, USA.¹ He was the son of James Ward Hotchkin Sr. and Zurah Adele Lonsberry. He married Betty Jane Schmidt at Lansing, Ingham County, MI, on 2 February 1950. He resided at Holt, Ingham County, MI, USA, in 1993. Ward's funeral was held at the Jessen Funeral Home at 1 PM on Friday and burial at Delta Center Cemetery. Social Security records confirm his birth on 8 September 1901 and death in July 1979. He always used the name Ward as does his son. Ward was a local druggist and operated a drug store at 1617 E. Kalamazoo St, Lansing.

Rossville, Westfield Twp., Richmond Co., NY 307 or 309-59-47. He resided at Bergen Point, Hudson County, NJ, USA, in 1903. He died on 24 December 1936 at Milford, Pike County, PA, USA, at age 89. He was buried at Moravian Cemetery, at Staten Island, Richmond County, NY, USA.

     The 1870 Rochester City Directory has, Hotchkin, J. Warner, a clerk, at 100 State St, and boarding at 16 Allen St. At the 1880 Census, James and wife Marietta are living with Marietta's parents, the Winant's. At the time of his father’s death, James lived at 102 West 4th St, Bergen Point, NJ. The 1920 census of Bergen Point has he and his wife Maretta, living with her sister, Catherine Saunders; James is listed as age 73, Marietta, age 69 and Catherine, age 51, Catherine was born in Ireland.

     Jamie Jared Hotchkin is the son of Scott Leslie Hotchkin and Patrica Ann Ballentine.

     Jan Elaine Hotchkin is the daughter of Max Bertrand Hotchkin and Rhea J. Watson. She married Gary Wayne Hawkins on 9 June 1973. Genesee County Marriage Records.¹

     Jane D. Hotchkin was born on 23 April 1829 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Joshua Francis (James) Hotchkin and Lydia Novill Grant. She married Ferris G. Sutherland at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, circa 1850. Jane D. Hotchkin died on 24 August 1885 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, at age 56.¹ She was buried at Hodge Cemetery, at Neversink, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     The family bible gives her death as 1829 where her gravestone gives 1830. Her marriage to Ferris Sutherland is based on Census Records. All of the information on this family comes from the Brown book, who says that Peggy Sutherland Morgan supplied him the information. Ferris was a plasterer and a farmer wirh 50 acres of land.²

     Jane E. Hotchkin was born on 4 May 1823 at Waterville, Oneida County, NY, USA. Her gravestone has an age of 19 years, 6 months which would calculate a birth of approximately 10 November 1822. She was the daughter of Eli Hodgkin and Elizabeth (Betsey) Drury. The 1900 census give her birth in Kentucky.¹ She was the daughter of Frank Seymour Hotchkin and Nancy Bates Walker. Jane Harriet Hotchkin married James Albert Jones on 10 January 1917 at Mobile, Mobile County, AL, USA. Jane Harriet Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1920 at Denver, Denver County, CO, USA. The census lists the family as: Janet Jones (transcription addition of surnames Janes), age 23, born IL in 1897, Female, Boarder, married, father born NY, mother born KY, no occupation; james Jones, age 30, borfn 1890 in AL, married, boarder, father born AL, mother born AL, occupation Accountant..      Janet (Peggy) Louise Hotchkin was born on 12 July 1946 at Culpeper, Culpeper County, VA, USA. She was the daughter of Elmer Frederick Hotchkin and Gladys Mae Bowen. Janet (Peggy) Louise Hotchkin married Cecil Eugene (Duke) Welcher on 25 July 1965 at Culpeper, Culpeper County, VA. Virginia Marriage Records. Janet (Peggy) Louise Hotchkin married Thomas Marvin Bailey on 25 June 1977 at Culpeper, Culpeper County, VA. Virginia Marriage Records. Janet (Peggy) Louise Hotchkin died on 8 September 1981 at Culpeper, Culpeper County, VA, at age 35. Peggy was the beloved daugther of Gladys Mae Bowen Hotchkin, mother of Pennie Leigh Welcher and sister of Fannie Mae Pr***z, all of Culpeper.

She was married twice, first to Cecil Eugene Welcher, which produced a daughter, born in 1969. Her second marriage was to Thomas Bailey of Brandy Station, VA. She also gave birth to a son in the early '70's, Aaron Welch, of Flint Hill, VA.

Peggy was a good student and a popular girl in her school days. She had many friends and a large family who loved her.

At the time of her passing, she was just 35 years old. Peggy died at Culpeper Memorial Hospital on September 8, 1981.. She was buried at Fairview Cemetery, at Culpeper, Culpeper County, VA, USA.      Jannette Lucille Hotchkin was born on 14 April 1930 at Seattle, King County, WA, USA. She was the daughter of Robert Sage Hotchkin and Helen Lucile Roth.      Jared Daniel Hotchkin is the son of Robert Jerrold Hotchkin and Nancy Dennae Pitkin. Jared Daniel Hotchkin married Krislyn Janae Perkins, daughter of Kalyn Ferryl Perkins and Donna June Bentley, on 29 June 2002 at Odessa, Ector County, TX, USA.

     Jason Eugene Hotchkin was born on 9 April 1975 at IA, USA.¹ He was the son of Wilbur Arthur Hotchkin and Rebecca Sue Jurgenson. Jason Eugene Hotchkin died on 17 August 1994 at Grinnell, Poweshiek County, IA, USA, at age 19.² He was buried at Hazelwood Cemetery, at Grinnell, Poweshiek County, IA, USA.

     He died at age 19 of asphyxiation due to hanging at Lions Park in Grinnell, IA and was buried at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

It does give the location as Harlan, MI..^5,6 Jay Heman Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1900 at Wexford, Wexford County, MI, USA. The census lists the family as: Jay H. Hotchkin, may 1862, 38, married 5 years, born NY, parents born NY, farmer; wife Delia, Apr 1870, 29, married 5 years, 3 children, 3 living, born VT, parents born Canada; daughter Meroa C., Jul 1895, 4, born MI; daughter Elsie H., Feb 1897, 3, born MI; son Harold H., Apr 1899, 1, born MI.. He died on 19 May 1905 at Harlan, Wexford County, MI, at age 43. Internet cemetery records give the years as 1902..⁴ He was buried at Cleon Twp Cemetery, at Copemish, Manistee County, MI, USA.

     After Jay' death in 1905, his wife Cordelia, or Delia as she is called in the 1900 Census, remarried William Seel in Berrien Co., MI and the children are found with her and her second husband at the 1910 census.
     Jay's proper name and parents Heman Hotchkin and Mary Hitchcock were found in Madison Co., NY records collected by LDS. Jay and his wife Cordelia are buried in the Cleon Twp Cemetery, Manistee Co., MI along with his father and sisters Marcia and Ruth.

     Jayson Richard Hotchkin is the son of William Simpson Hotchkin and Dibet Marie Lapp.

     Jean Ann Hotchkin was born on 28 June 1931 at Sullivan County, NY, USA. She was the daughter of Henry Pipa and Philena Hotchkin. She married Daniel Robert Bonnell at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY, USA, on 15 May 1953.^1,2 Jean Ann Hotchkin and Daniel Robert Bonnell were divorced circa 1956 at NY, USA. She married Harold D. Allison in 1958. Jean Ann Hotchkin died on 24 August 1976 at Sullivan County, NY, at age 45. She was buried at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery, at Grahamsville, Sullivan County, NY, USA.

     Jean was born to Philena Hotchkin and Henry Pipa. Fred Kahn says that Philena was living with her parents when Jean Ann was born and William and Mary adopted Jean and that is why she carries the Hotchkin name.
Jean was Harold Allison's second wife and he had three daughters by his first wife. Jean died of cancer on August 24 1976.

     Jean Kathryn Hotchkin was born on 29 May 1921 at Kingston, Ulster County, NY, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Malcolm George Hotchkin and Ruth Ann Rutherford. She married Lynn Elliott Dreyfus at Kingston, Ulster County, NY, on 13 March 1943. She married Hubert Arthur (Hugh) Harwood at NY, USA, on 30 December 1961. She resided at Sarasota, Sarasota County, FL, USA, in 1990. Jean Kathryn Hotchkin died on 25 February 2003 at Sarasota, Sarasota County, FL, at age 81. Jean was the first of six children born to Malcolm George Hotchkin and Ruth Ann Rutherford Hotchkin. Her family relocated to Andes, New York about 1923 and to Delhi, New York about 1928 where her father was a farmer. She was a 1939 graduate of Delaware Academy at Delhi. Jean married to Lynn Elliott Dreyfus on 13 March 1943 at Kingston. They made their home first at Monterey, California and relocated to Delhi about 1947. Jean’s husband, Delaware County Attorney, died in 1953 and she married next to Hubert Arthur Harwood on 30 December 1961. They made their home first at Delhi. They relocated to Sarasota, Florida about 1973 and returned to Delhi about 1997. In earlier years, Jean worked as a switchboard operator for Delhi Telephone Company and then a study hall supervisor at Delaware Academy. At Sarasota, she was an emergency room secretary at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Doctor’s Hospital for over twenty years. She was a member of Delhi Second Presbyterian Church and a former member of Watauga Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Jean and Lynn were the parents of three children; two daughters and one son. Jean and Hubert had no children.

She was the daughter of Everett Willis Hotchkin and Ruth Isabelle Thompson. Jean Louise Hotchkin married Donald F. Metz in 1945 at Scarsdale, Westchester County, NY, USA. Jean Louise Hotchkin died on 6 April 2010 at Richmond, Richmond City, VA, USA, at age 84. JEAN HOTCHKIN METZ formerly of Mount Dora, FL and Scarsdale, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald F. Metz. She is survived by her children: James D. Metz (Suzanne Hallberg), Robert W. Metz (Haydee) and Lori M.      Jeanette (Netty) Matilda Hotchkin was born in August 1867 at Troy, Rensselaer County, NY, USA. Her birth location is given in a newspaper article about her and her husbands travels to Alaska. They left Seattle on June 24 1898 on the old New York steamer Portland. They traveled to St Michael's up the Yukon River and back to Seattle by the Inside Passage. It was said that Harry Collins hair turned white on the trip and Nettie's had streaks of white. Mrs Collins said, "it is just awful to even think about it." She said that they lived in a barracks at Rampart, Alaska and the temperature was that cold like evryone presumed.¹ She was the daughter of Albert Leet Hotchkin Sr. and Delia M. Smith. Jeanette (Netty) Matilda Hotchkin married Harry John Collins, son of William Collins and Mary Anna McEwen, in 1888 at WA, USA. Marriede 2 years at the 1900 census..
