Alice Theresa Crispell, a resident of this city for more than half a century died this morning. She was born at Chaumont, New York, on the 27th day of August, 1849, from which place she moved with her parents to Battle Creek, when she was 10 years of age. Her father was A. C. Hamblin, one of the pioneer bankers in this city.

Mrs. Crispell had been in poor health for some time but her death was not anticipated and the announcement of it was a shock to her many friends. In her death, the community has lost a splendid character, and those who knew her, a true and loyal friend.

She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Bernard J. Onen and a granddaughter who was named after her.

The funeral services will take place at the home of her daughter, 130 Frelinhuysen Avenue, Thursday, December 5 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The burial will be private.

Frank served in the United States Army, World War II, North Africa, Sicily, Italy, and Germany. He retired from Fisher Body, Flint, Michigan after 30 years. They lived in Flushing, Michigan until 1985 when they moved to Lake George, Michigan. His Death certificate states 02/22/2002 only because the doctor did not come in to pronounce him dead until after midnight. He actually died 02/21/2002 at approx. 10:30 pm.
