Olive C. Freeman
FREEMAN, OLIVE C. On December 29, 2008 and after 95 years, God called home our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was so special to us and we were grateful to have her presence, love, and devotion for so long. It was a true blessing to be at her bedside as she peacefully ascended to heaven. We will miss her daily. She was born to Wiley and Nora Crippen in a log cabin in Pulaski County Illinois on September 8, 1913, and was the oldest of 10 children. Married in 1933, she moved to Alabama with husband, Robert W. Freeman and resided in Fairfield for over 40 years along with 3 children. This self-made woman became a Realtor and while working at Viva Chumbler Realty set numerous sales records. Most notable of which was selling 17 houses in one month and awarded Realtor of the Year. In her retirement years, she resided in Homewood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Freeman, and first born son, Bobby F. Freeman. Survivors are her children, Judith Brownson (Jon) and Terry H. Freeman (Lisa), grandchildren Mark Freeman, Pam Black, Ken Brownson, Taylor Freeman, Haley Freeman, and great grandchildren BJ Brownson and Cody Brownson. Lastly, she also leaves behind her very special friend and loving caregiver, Susie Chavez. Funeral arrangements will be at Elmwood Chapel on Friday, January 2, at 1PM.
