Joseph Wright Hudson 1949-2016
He was born October 18,1949 to Ella Faustina and Joseph Prince Hudson in Atlanta, GA. He attended B.C. Rain high school where he played football. He met our mother Jo Ann Hudson there and they both graduated in 1968. They both attended South Brooklyee UMC but did not start dating until they were both at college. Dad was also a member of kingswood United Methodist and also New Hope United Methodist where he was a charter member He joined the Army in 1969 and they were married December 23rd 1969. After the military he worked at Scott Paper for 30+ years before retiring in the early 80's. He also served in the Army Reserve out of Foley Alabama where he also retired. Dad was a man of few words like John Wayne and Paul Bear Bryant but he loved playfully ribbing someone and had a very sneaky sense of humor. He was also the first to help with whatever needed done.
He is survived by 2 children, Michael Hudson born and Jennifer Hudson. Michael is married to Crystal Hudson and they have one daughter Miss Ashley Hudson; sister, Barbara Botter; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Pine Crest Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm at Pine Crest Cemetery. The family asks in lieu of flowers, send donations to Lynwood Health Care & Rehab Center.

Mrs. Patty Butterfield, after an illness of three weeks, died at the residence of her son, J. W. Butterfield, on Friday, April 13, aged 92 years. She leaves a family of four daughters and one son, all of whom were present during her entire illness, and at the time of her death, and did all that loving care could do to alleviate her sufferings and smooth her pathway to the tomb. Her venerable husband with whom she had lived for 66 years, only 6 years preceded her across the river of Death, to wait her coming, and welcome her to the other shore. Her funeral services were held on Sunday, April 15th, at the M. E. Church, in Perry, Rev. Benj. Excell officiating assisted by Rev. Smith, Pastor of the Baptist Church and Elder Richard Shepard and were attended by a large entourage of sympathizing friends and neighbors, who met to pay the last tribute of respect to one whose home has been among them for nearly half a century and whose many virtues commanded the esteem and admiration of all who knew her. The descendants of the deceased now living number fifty, two being of the fifth generation. The names of her surviving children are as follows: Mrs. L. B. Parker, of Kingsville, Ohio; Mrs. John Dow, of Ashtabula, Ohio; Mr. J. W. Butterfield, Mrs. J. J. Thomson and Mrs. C. M. Coolidge of Perry, O.

Elizabeth Hughson

Elizabeth Hughson was born on 20 September 1763. She married Isaac Adams Smith Sr., son of Isaac Smith and Eunice Elizabeth Adams, in 1784. Elizabeth Hughson died on 6 August 1791 at age 27.
