Dean E Center died on 17 September 2017 at Hanover, Jackson County, MI, at age 88. He was buried at McNair Cemetery, at Pulaski, Jackson County, MI, USA. Dean was a lifelong farmer who took pride in being a good steward of his land. As a champion calf roper, Dean could never be caught without his cowboy hat on.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Michigan State Spartans. Most of his mornings were spent meeting for a cup of coffee with his local friends in Hanover. He was a lifelong member of the Big 9 Sportsman’s Club.
Dean is survived by his beloved partner, Dorothy Kerr; son, Scott Center; daughters, Cindy (Greg) Hotchkin and Kim (Bob) Czmer; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; special friend, Charlie Chamberlin; the Kerr family was also a special part of Dean’s life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 1 brother.
Due to Dean’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
Lauer Family Funeral Homes in Concord has been entrusted to care for the family.

Champagne died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the age of 88. He was born July 19, 1925 in Harrisville, MI the son of Nelson and Marion Glendolia (Weir) Champagne. George served in the Navy during WWII and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Michigan State University. He is a retired United States Postal Service employee with 28 years of service and a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Surviving are his children, Ann (Jim) McDaniel of Lees Summit, MO, Dawn Jones of Columbia, TN, Al (Shelley) of East Lansing, MI, Paul (Margy) of Ripley, MI, Joe (Betty) of Laingsburg, MI, Jim and John both of Bremerton, WA. Also surviving are several grandchildren; one sister, Lois Foster of PA and two brothers, Charles and Bob Champagne both of Harrisville, MI. Following his wishes there will be no services. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns, MI.

Wendell was born Aug. 26, 1916, in Perkins, Okla., to Nile O. Chantry and Wanda McDaniel Chantry. He married LaVerna Walner of Wynnewood, Okla., in Pittsburgh, Pa., on June 23, 1943; she preceded him in death in November 2012. His sisters, Caroline Bell of Amarillo and Harriett Krueger of Oklahoma City, preceded him in death in 2014. Wendell was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from Classen High School in 1935. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he majored in petroleum engineering and geology. He entered the U.S. Army in the early 1940s and was discharged in 1946, attaining the rank of captain. He was awarded several commendations for his service. His professional employment included Continental Oil Co., Davon Oil Co., U.S. Smelting, Refining & Mining Co. and Texam Oil Division of Energy Resources. In 1985, he formed his own petroleum consulting firm and retired in 1992. Wendell was a 50-year Mason and a 50-year Scottish Rite Mason, and held dual Shrine membership in Suez Temple in San Angelo and Moslah Temple in Fort Worth. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth. He believed he experienced the best life had to offer with a happy marriage, a wonderful family, a satisfying career, many great friends and the luck to have lived in the best century of the best country in the world!
Survivors: Daughter, Carol Chantry Powers and husband, Joe B. Powers, of Arlington; grandchildren, Adam Powers and Paige Wallace and husband, Ryan, of Arlington; twin great-granddaughters; many nieces and nephews.
