Mary Barter appeared on the census of 1850 at Chicopee, Hampden County, MA, USA. The census lists the family as: Mary Granville, 48, no occupation, born ME; Evilena, Granville, 13, born ME. They are living in large boarding house or hotel.. She died on 15 December 1892 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA, at age 90. Cemetery records.1 She was buried at Morton Hill Cemetery, at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA. Died at age 90-8-11.

     All of this information except for the census look-ups came from Henry Gustine according to the Compilers cousin Junnelle Denslow Reep. Samuel can not be found in any of the censuses so likely he died before 1850. At the 1850 census, Mary and daughter Evilene are living in a hotel in Chicopee, MA. A George F Granvile, who is the correct age is found in Effingham, Corrol, NH in 1850 with several other Granville,s. There is no proof that this is the correct George. He is not again found until 1870 in Berrien County, MI.

Hellen (Ellen) Bartlett appeared on the census of 1910 at Rochester, Monroe County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: Hotchkin, Helen, 44 (1865), widow, 1 child, 1 living, born NY, parents born NY, runs boarding house; stepson William A., 32, single, born NY.. She resided at Rochester, Monroe County, NY, USA, in 1910. Hellen died in 1916 at Rochester, Monroe County, NY. She disappears from Rochester City Directory at the 1916-17 edition.. She was buried at Riverside Cemetery, at Rochester, Monroe County, NY, USA. Sec L.

     Helen appears in the 1909 Rochester City Directory as the widow of Henry and living at 19 Sanders where she also lived at the 1910-11 directory. The 1912 directory gives her address as 761 Maple; the 1913 as 6 Marlow where she lived until the 1915-16 directory. She does not appear in any later directory.The name seems to be clearly Ellen at the 1900 census. At this census there is a stei-son Albert E. Lander listed so her first marriage must of been to a Mr Lander.
She was born as Hellen M Bartlett to Thomas and Fanny Bartlett. She used the name Ellen when married LaRonda or Larnder . Their son Albert Edward always used Larnder. When she married Hotchkin she always used a first name Helen.
Helen or Ellen had a surname of "LaRonde" when she married Henry Hotchkin on June 19, according to the 1900 Census of Rochester, NY & New York Marriage Index 1895.

That census lists her son Albert Edward as a step-son of Henry.

Her death date is estimated based on her disappearing from the Rochester City Directory at the 1916-17 edition.

     Bishop bible records in the Samuel Collins Revolutionary Pension files call her Ruth Bartlet, daughter of Hooker and Ruth. The name Hooker is just a guess from reading the file and observing that they had a son named Hooker.
