Mary Hotchkiss died on 19 May 1833 at Middletown, Middlesex County, CT, USA, at age 4.^1,2 She was buried at Riverside Cemetery, at Middletown, Middlesex County, CT, USA.

     Mary S Hotchkiss was born on 20 January 1801 at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, USA. Ambrose Hotchkiss bible says Guilford, other records say Simsbury.¹ She was the daughter of Ambrose Hodgkin and Sarah E. Barnard. Mary S Hotchkiss married Walter R. Darrow at CT, USA. Mary S Hotchkiss died on 13 January 1878 at NY, USA, at age 76.² She was buried at Old North Cemetery, at Hartford, Hartford County, CT, USA.

     Mary and Walter had no children.

     Ruth Hotchkiss was born on 1 May 1809 at Killingworth, Middlesex County, CT, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Ambrose Hodgkin and Sarah E. Barnard. Ruth Hotchkiss married Elison (Elliesora) Rolfe at CT, USA. Ruth Hotchkiss died on 23 October 1879 at Derby, New Haven County, CT, USA, at age 70.² She was buried at Oak Cliff Cemetery, at Derby, New Haven County, CT, USA.

     Ruth and Mr. Rolfe had no children according to the Charles Hotchkiss letter but children are found in the 1860 and 1880 census.

She married Amos Whittemore at CT, USA, in 1813.² Sarah Barnard Hotchkiss died on 13 August 1853 at Hartford, Hartford County, CT, USA, at age 61.³ She was buried at Spring Grove Cemetery, at Hartford, Hartford County, CT, USA.

     There were no living descendants in 1922 according to Charles E. Hotchkiss letter.

     Sophia Louisa Hotchkiss was born on 1 July 1812 at Killingworth, Middlesex County, CT, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Ambrose Hodgkin and Sarah E. Barnard. Sophia Louisa Hotchkiss married Edmund Schuyler Hazen on 9 December 1838 at CT, USA. Sophia Louisa Hotchkiss appeared on the census of 1880 at Middletown, Middlesex County, CT, USA. The census lists the family as: Sophia L. Hazen, 64, born CT; son George, 39, born CT; dau Ellen, 36, born CT.. She died on 28 October 1892 at Middletown, Middlesex County, CT, at age 80.

     The information on Isaac Hovey and his wife Abigail Gurley comes from the DAR application of his grand daughter, Kate Jennette Hotchkin. This says that she was his second wife.

     Jemima Hovey was born on 28 February 1773 at New London, New London County, CT, USA. She married John Harmon at Berkshire, Tioga County, NY, USA, in 1805. Jemima Hovey died on 28 March 1838 at Newark Valley, Tioga County, NY, USA, at age 65. She was buried at Hope Cemetery, at Newark Valley, Tioga County, NY, USA.

     Jennette was born at Sangerfield, Oneida County, NY, USA, on 20 July 1824.^1,2 She was the daughter of Isaac Hovey MD and Abigail Gurley. She married Mark Caldwell (M. C.) Hotchkin at Morrisville, Madison County, NY, USA, on 14 January 1847. Hudson- Mohawk Valley Records 1808- 1850. Hotchkin M. O. of Waterville married 1/14/47 Genett Hovey, dau of Dr Isaac Hovey of Morrisville, in Morrisville, by Rev Harrington..³ Jennette M. Hovey appeared on the census of 1870 at Sangerfield, Oneida County, NY. The census lists the family as: Hotchkin, J. M., age 45, b NY; keep house, $2500, $21000; b NY; son Robert, age 18, b NY, Photo Gallery; dau Kittie, age 13, at school, b NY; dau Mary J., age 4, b NY; 3 houses away lived stepson George, age 32.
. She resided at Waterville, Oneida County, NY, USA, in 1870. She married Ephraim Hubbard Walker, son of Orrin B. Walker and Huldah M. Hubbard, circa 1878 at Sangerfield, Oneida County, NY. Jennette M. Hovey died on 27 January 1892 at Waterville, Oneida County, NY, at age 67.^4,5 She was buried at Waterville Cemetery, at Waterville, Oneida County, NY, USA.⁶

     The 1870 Census of Sangerfield has her, a recent widow living with two of her children, Robert and Catherine, who is called Kittie by the census taker. Robert is working at a Photo Gallery and Kittie attends school; stepson George lives four houses away with his wife Maria and their son Frank, who is one year old. Jennette's wedding announcement in the Morrisville Observer says that she is the daughter of Dr Isaac Hovey. On 9 April 1871, she was the Grantee of property from Wm. B. Goodwin in Oneida Co., NY and on 2 February 1867, Janette M. Hotchkin sold to her mother, Abigail Hovey, Liber 275, pg 382. Her Will, dated 22 November 1887, and probated on 25 April 1892, leaves her house and lot in Waterville to her daughters Kate J. and Mary J. with all the household effects, furniture, silver and jewerly; plus a sum of nine thousand dollars to each. To her son John C. she left a sum of five thousand dollars and to son Robert H., she left all the real estate that she owned in the state of Florida.
     Jennett remarried about 1873, after the death of her husband Mark, and she filed for guardianship on her daughter in 1877 and gave her name as Jennett M. Walker. At that time she lived in Sangerfield, NY. Her daughter Kate's DAR application traces her parents lineage; daughter of Isaac Hovey, MD and Abigail Gurley; grand daughter of Artemus Gurley and Sarah Steele. The Hovey bible gives her name as Jennett (without the final e in several places.).

     John G. Hovey was born in 1829 at Oneida County, NY, USA. He was the son of Isaac Hovey MD and Abigail Gurley. John G. Hovey died in 1882 at Oneida County, NY. He was buried at Deanboro Cemetery, at Deansboro, Oneida County, NY, USA.
