Donald loved to hunt, travel, fish, and was an outdoorsman. He was a Charter Father member of the Rat Pack Motorcycle Club and a veteran having served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lester Wythe.

He is survived by his wife Connie of 33 years, daughters Wendy (John) Beckett, Teresa (Kenneth) Peterson, sons Terry (Tracy), Jerry, Gary, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, his parents Oakley and Elaine Thornton and sister Karen (Bob) Nichols.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Mason, with military honors at the cemetery.

     Their daughter Eileen says: Minnie's middle name was Eda but since it did not appear on her birth certificate she dropped it.
     She was a housewife. She took in ironing and babysat for extra money. Many of those she babysat for came to call Frank, Daddy Hammond. With the exception of Matthew Strand who called them Grandma & Grandpa Hammond & was still calling them that at the time he was married.
     She liked to knit, crochet and sew.
     When they moved to Lake George, Michigan. they became active at the senior center.
     After Frank's death, Minnie joined he Garden Club in Lake George also she learned to play euchre and played with her lady friends on Tuesdays and she played at the Booster Club where she had joined. She also became very active in her church, becoming a deaconess.

Hammond, Minnie of Flint, formerly of Flushing and Lake George, age 92, died Saturday, October 3, 2020, at her home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2020, at Faith Missionary Church. Pastor Brent Kriesch will officiate. Burial will follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Medical Team Hospice.



Minnie was born in Mason, Michigan on June 7, 1928, the youngest of six children to Frank and Lelia (Hotchkin) Wythe. She married Frank Hammond on June 6, 1953, in Mason, Michigan. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2002. Minnie loved children and spent many years babysitting and always had extra children in her home she lovingly took care of. After her husband’s retirement, they moved to Lake George for 35 years where she was active in the Senior Center. Minnie loved to bake and was often requested to bring her famous lemon pie to gatherings. She also enjoyed knitting and crochet. Minnie was a member of the Red Hat Society and TOPS and a garden club. She was a people person who loved life to the fullest.



Minnie is survived by her children, Roy (Patti) Hammond, Eileen (Roger) Lawrence, Linda (Ken) Brandell; grandchildren, Jonathan (Donice) Hammond, Susanne (Jeremy) Browning, Jesse (Becky) Cahill, Heather Brandell, Amanda (Robert) Soto, nine great-grandchildren; special family friends, Ann Strnad; Matt (Kim) Strnad and their two children; brother-in-law, Carl Hammond; sister-in-law, Dee Hammond; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

     Nellie Amanda Wythe was born on 28 July 1891 at Grand Ledge, Eaton County, MI, USA. She was the daughter of Charles William Wythe and Mary Jane Matteson. Nellie Amanda Wythe died on 14 September 1912 at Benton Twp, Eaton County, MI, USA, at age 21.      Nellie was a School Teacher, living in Benton at the time of her death of Typoid Fever. Her father Charles lived in Potterville at that time according to the Death Certificate. Her death certificate gives her parents names and their birth in Ohio.
