Gerald Cecil Brand died on 18 October 1944 at the battle of Peleliu, Peleliu, Palau Islands, at age 28. The battle of Peleliu covered the period of September 15 to November 27 1944. This battle of one of MacArthur's great mistakes of the war. The taking of the Island was estimated for 2 weeks but it took nearly 3 months and was the greatest percentage loss of American troops of the war. The large percent of these losses were US Marines.. He was buried at Northlawn Cemetery, at North Adams, Hillsdale County, MI, USA.

On June 6, 1935 she was married to Leo Hotchkin in Homer, Michigan. He preceded her in death July 19, 1995. She was employed as a playground monitor and in the lunchroom in the Public Schools. She was a member of the Universalist Church in Concord and a former member of the Concord Eastern Star. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Tennant of Onondaga, MI; two sons, Gary Hotchkin of Concord, and Kirk Brian Hotchkin of Windsor Locks, Connecticut; and seven grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. Visitation for family and friends will begin on Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Universalist Church in Concord. Funeral Services will be Saturday March 7, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Concord. Arrangements by J. The first medical society was organized in the Chickasaw Nation of the Indian Territory on May 15, 1900 and was called the Chickasaw Medical Association. In 1902, Dr. J.W. Gilbert of Ardmore was the president; Dr. E.E. Chivers of Ardmore was secretary. On March 15, 1906, a group of Pauls Valley doctors organized the Washita Valley Medical Association, 17th District (Garvin County) in Pauls Valley. They were Drs. A.W. Gray, H.P. Markham, W. J. Maniss, A.J. Robinson, James R. Callaway, N.H. Lindsey, T.C. Branum and James A. Young. This association functioned until Oklahoma became a state in 1907 and the name was changed to Garvin County Medical Society under which it was still functioning in 1957 when this book was published
In January of 1903 the Callaways moved to Pauls Valley where Dr. Calloway became a partner of Dr. T.C. Branum. This partnership was dissolved in October of 1905
