     Aletha was born at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA, on 28 November 1896. She was the daughter of Frank Eugene Denslow and Mary Rose (Mamie) Hotchkin. She married Warner Ellwood Price at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, on 30 August 1916.¹ Aletha died on 20 September 1919 at Hillsdale, Hillsdale County, MI, USA, at age 22. Died of Bright's Disease of the kidneys.. She was buried at Crystal Springs Cemetery, at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA.

     Aletha Belle was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Benton Harbor, MI on 29 January 1910 and the church records show her death as 20 September 1919. The month and year of death was already available from old family records of Mabel Hotchkin. Junella Denslow Reep also supplied information on their marriage plus location of her birth and death. Her death was caused by Brights Disease of the Kidneys.

     Barbara Jo Denslow is the daughter of Irving LeRoy (Denny) Denslow and Joyce Marie Branch. Barbara Jo Denslow married Michael Bailey on 15 December 1985.

     Bertha A. Denslow was born, according to conflicting information, in July 1893 at MI, USA. 1900 census.. She was the daughter of Jerome Henry Denslow and Emelie Resalta Sutherland. Bertha A. Denslow died on 16 December 1987 at Blanchard, Isabella County, MI, USA, at age 94.¹ She was buried at Wambold Cemetry, at Remus, Mecosta County, MI, USA.

     Floyd's death and burial information was supplied by Junella Hotchkin Denslow. Death caused by Lymphoblastoma (cancer of the lymphs and leukemia). He was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Benton Harbor, MI on 29 January 1910. Floyd worked as a shipping clerk for Remington Rand and served in the US Army from October 14 1918 until his honorable discharge on December 15 1918.

     Frank Eugene Denslow was born on 9 May 1871 at Woodstock, Lenawee County, MI, USA.^2,3 He was the son of Jerome Henry Denslow and Asenath Savage. Frank Eugene Denslow was a Flour Miller. He married Mary Rose (Mamie) Hotchkin at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA, on 17 June 1896. His obituary gives the year as 1895..^4,5 Frank Eugene Denslow appeared on the census of 1910 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA. The census lists the family as: Frank E. Denslow, 38, married 15 years, born MI, parents born MI, flour miller; wife Mammie R., 33, married 15 years, 2 children, 2 living, bor Maine, parents born Maine (certainly not true); daughter Letha, 13, born MI; son Floyd, 11, born MI.. Frank died on 17 March 1949 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, at age 77. Juella's brother Irving gives the death date as 9 Mar 1949..^2,6 He was buried on 20 March 1949 at Crystal Springs Cemetery, at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA.

     The marriage to Eugene Denslow and Mamie Hotchkin is recorded in Berrien Co. Vital Records as taking place on 17 June 1896 in Benton Harbor. These records show that he was born in Michigan and was age 25; and that she was born in New York and age 19. His father is given as J. H. Denslow and his mother Unknown Savage. Junella Denslow Reep completes these names by saying that Frank's parents were Jerome Denslow and Sarah Savage. Mary Rose parents were given as Frank Hotchkin and Eva Granville.

     Frederick L. Denslow was born on 20 September 1860 at NY, USA.¹ He was the son of Jerome Henry Denslow and Asenath Savage. Frederick L. Denslow died before 1880 at MI, USA. Not with family at 1880 census..

     Gerald Jerome Denslow was born on 19 May 1908 at Sherman Twp, Isabella County, MI, USA.      Irving LeRoy (Denny) Denslow is the son of Floyd Eugene Denslow and Hazel Wave Wood. He married Joyce Marie Branch at Elizabethtown, Bladen County, NC, USA, on 22 July 1951.

     Jeremiah Denslow was born on 2 July 1798 at Genesee County, NY, USA. He married Desire Barbara Griffith in 1824 at Batavia, Genesee County, NY, USA. Jeremiah Denslow died on 16 February 1873 at Lenawee County, MI, USA, at age 74. Michigan Deaths 1867 to 1897 gives a date of 16 February 1873 in Woodstock..¹

     Jeremiah Denslow, was born July 2, 1798, in Geneseee County, New York. He married Barbara Griffin, about 1824, in Batavia, New York. Some time about 1870 they moved to Mecosta County Michigan. Jeremiah died in 1873.
Jeremiah and Barbara had eight children: William Riley, Melissa, William Tracy, Edwin Beryl, Jerome Henry (my great grandfather) Clarissa Irene, and Marietta.

Jerome Henry, born about 1836, first married Sarah Savage. She died young, and he then married Asenth Savage, a sister of his first wife., Jerome and Asenth had eight children: Frederick: George: Willard Glenn and William Lee (twins): Myrtle: Grant: Henry: Frank Eugene and Viola>

Jerome served in he Navy during the Civil War in the U.S.S. North Carolina, the ST Lawrence, the R.R. Cuyler and the U.S.S. Constellation in Norfolk, Virginia. I have a copy of his discharge from the navy.

Jerome died May 18, 1918 in Remus, Michigan

Frank Eugene Denslow, (my grandfather) was born May 9, 1871. He married Mary Rose Hotchkin in 1896. They made their home in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Frank and Eugene had two children: Floyd Eugene, and Aletha Belle. Floyd (my father) died in 1932 of cancer. After his death my mother, my mother's mother, my sister and I went to live in my grandfather's house. Thanks to my Grandfather, I learned to read and write at an early age.

My grandfather was never seen without a pipe, and because he was always spilling hot ashes from his pipe, he was only allowed to sit in one chair in the living room if he was smoking, because he always burned out the seat of the chair. Also, we never owned a car that did not have the driver's seat burned out. I remember all the cars had gunny sacks stuffed in the holes in the car seat.

About 1946 Grandpa took me to Remus to see his home areas. I met Milford Denslow's family there and after Grandpa returned home, I spent a great week on Milford's farm, where as a "city boy" I had a wonderful time. It was the last time my grandfather got to return home to the Remus area.

Mary Rose died in September 9, 1946, shortly after celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Frank died March 15, 1949. They are both buried in Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Discharge certificate for Jerome Denslow. According to the stories, he served in the Navy during the Civil War. In 1912 he petitioned the war Department for a copy of his discharge, stating that while his wife was ill, he hired a young girl to help take care of his wife, and that after the girl was let go, it was discovered that a box with some jewelry and the original discharge paper was missing. This discharge is what was provided to him by the War Department.

He lived in 1877 at Sherman Twp, Isabella County, MI, USA. Sec 22, Sherman. He married Emelie Resalta Sutherland on 22 November 1888 at Mount Pleasant, Isabella County, MI, USA. Jerome Henry Denslow died on 26 May 1918 at Remus, Mecosta County, MI, USA, at age 81. He was buried at Forest Hill Cemetery, at Weidman, Isabella County, MI, USA.

     Junella was born at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA, on 16 July 1925.¹ She was the daughter of Floyd Eugene Denslow and Hazel Wave Wood. She married Richard Dean Reep at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, on 10 October 1948. Junella died on 23 October 1991 at Sandwich, DeKalb County, IL, USA, at age 66.²

     Junella and her husband Richard moved to Sandwich, Illinois in 1954 from Benton Harbor, MI. They were married in the EVB Church, Benton Harbor, MI. Junella died of a genetic heart defect called Marfan Syndrome. Indications of this disease are abnormally long legs, a sunken chest, possible crossed eyes, a high, narrow mouth, and a leaking heart valve. Researchers believe that President Abraham Lincoln had this disease. June was the Compilers cousin and had supplied a great deal of material on the family. Junella and Richard had no children.

     Keith David Denslow is the son of Irving LeRoy (Denny) Denslow and Joyce Marie Branch. He married Jane Towe Sears at VA, USA, on 20 May 1978.

     Marietta Denslow was born on 5 June 1848 at Sinclairville, Chautauqua County, NY, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Jeremiah Denslow and Desire Barbara Griffith. Marietta Denslow died on 16 September 1930 at Ogden, Lenawee County, MI, USA, at age 82.¹ She was buried at North Rome Cemetery, at Rome Center, Lenawee County, MI, USA.

     Melissa Denslow was born in June 1821 at NY, USA. She was the daughter of Jeremiah Denslow and Desire Barbara Griffith. Melissa Denslow died on 16 January 1902 at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA, at age 80.¹ She was buried at Oak Woods Cemetery, at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA.

     Minnie Belle Denslow was born on 20 September 1868 at Genesee County, MI, USA. She was the daughter of Edwin (Edward) Beryl Denslow Sr. and Judith Elizabeth Savage.      Viola Evalena Denslow was born on 3 March 1874 at Woodstock, Lenawee County, MI, USA.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Jerome Henry Denslow and Asenath Savage. Viola Evalena Denslow married Ira Martin Leiter on 22 June 1890 at Sherman Twp, Isabella County, MI, USA. Viola Evalena Denslow died on 4 August 1915 at Sherman Twp, Isabella County, MI, at age 41.
