     At age one she is in the Allegany County Almshouse with her father. Mother's habits reported Bad. Later notes says father died there.

     Walter James Hinds was born on 26 April 1925 at Ossian, Livingston County, NY, USA. He was the son of Lewis Vincent Hinds and Clara Mae Berry. Walter James Hinds died on 8 October 2012 at Killeen, Bell County, TX, USA, at age 87. Funeral services for Walter J. Hinds will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Grace United Methodist Church in Copperas Cove with the Rev. Stephen Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at noon at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.
Mr. Hinds died Oct. 8, 2012, in Killeen. He was born April 26, 1925, in Ossian, N.Y.
He was a World War II veteran, earning several military awards to include the European African Eastern Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. A retired over the road truck driver, he was a 50-plus-year member of the Masonic Lodge 595, the Scottish Rite and the American Legion. He was also a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda, of Copperas Cove; sons, Walter L. Hinds and his wife, Penny, of Coudersport, Pa. and Brian Hinds and his wife, Sabrina, of Rio Rancho, N.M; daughters, Yvonne and her husband, Michael Minton, of Copperas Cove, Jacklyn and her husband, David Walker, of Bowling Green, Ky., Carolyn and her husband, Joseph Macaluso, of Groveland Station, N.Y., and Diane Mulvihill of Webster, N.Y; one brother; three sisters; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
