According City Directory she was an Usher at the Michigan theatre and living at the same address as Lorin J and Bernice Stoner. She married Jerrold Lee Hotchkin at Lansing, Ingham County, MI, on 3 April 1948.^3,1 Grace Marie Stoner and Jerrold Lee Hotchkin were divorced on 29 December 1950 at Calhoun County, MI, USA. Grace Marie Stoner married James Carl Engle circa 1954 at Lansing, Ingham County, MI. Listed in 1955 Marquette City Directory as Grace Engle.. Grace Marie Stoner died on 8 November 2009 at Marquette, Marquette County, MI, USA, at age 79. Her Obituary appeared in "The Mining Journal", Marquette, MI, 8 Dec 2009. It listed Spouse as James, children as Max and wife Cindy; siblings as Judy Stoner or Judy Engle. Nita Engle is also listed, not sure if this is daughter of Judy Engle or not..² She was buried at Marquette, Marquette County, MI. Body cremated and ashes spread into Lake Superior at the mouth of the Little Garlic River..

     Liz Vrancheff sent the Compiler the following information:
I have copies of a "Syllabus by the Court" from the Supreme Court of Michigan in Riede v Riede dated 1/5/42 that sides with the Ingham County Circuit Court in giving Eddie Charles Riede custody of Grace Marie. It states that "due to the habits of Mrs. Riede and the conditions of her home life are such that the trial court (I think the trial was (11/26/40) properly concluded there should be a change of environment for the child"
It appears that Eddie was living with his sister, my grandmother and they said that "the record shows that the home of the plaintiff's sister would be decidedly a more proper home, having the interests of the child.

My grandmother had made notes "that Grace came to live with us, much against her will"
I'm not sure what happened, but at some point her and her father also had a falling out and it appears that she then went to live with her mother's sister Bernice Stoner. I have found this information also in the Lansing City directories.
