Her 1900 Passport Application gives a 27 Feb 1852 birth.1,2 She was the daughter of Chauncey Palmer and Dorcas Wright. She married Charles Marion Hotchkin at Utica, Oneida County, NY, on 30 May 1866.3 Emma Louise Palmer appeared on the census of 1930 at Oak Park, Cook County, IL, USA. The census lists the family as: Emma Hotchkin, 84 (1845), widow, born NY, father born Ct, mother born NY, is a guest at the Boulavard Chateau Hotel at 330 N. Austin.. She died on 17 November 1932 at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA, at age 84.4,2 She was buried at Rose Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum, at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA.
Emma's maiden name is found on birth records of her daughter Emma C., 17 January 1882. These records say that Emma was the third child; however, only two have been identified.
The wedding of Emma and C. M. Hotchkin was announced in the Syracuse and Utica newpapers. The Syracuse Journal stated, "Mr C. M. Hotchkin, the managing partner of the extensive cloak emporium of Messrs. Hotchkin, Marquisee and Co., of this city, has entered into another partnership which bids to be a lasting one. He has embarked in the business of life with Miss Emma L. Palmer, one of Utica's fair daughters, as his partner. The happy event took place at the residence of the bride's father, in Utica, on Thursday last. We congratulate our friend Hotchkin on this occasion, and hope that his future years may be attended with all that makes life happy, and that his wedded life may be prolonged to, "years unnumbered."

She was employed at Frenchtown Porcelain for 10 years and was also a homemaker.
Anna was a member of the Alexandria First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant. She loved watching game shows and enjoyed keeping her yard in immaculate condition. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Her husband, Harvey Gruver , died in 1985. Three brothers, Michael, Stephen and John Papics, and a sister, Irene Biscar, also died earlier.
She is survived by her son, Harvey R. Gruver and his wife, Cathy of Wind Gap, Pa; a brother, Frank Papics of Colbert, Ga; three sisters, Matilda Hotchkin of Three Bridges, Margaret Oram of Oxford and Elizabeth Berner of Washington; two granddaughters, Sue Kutzman and Denise Gruver ; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township. Interment will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Visitation will be today starting at 10 a.m., in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Holland Township Volunteer Fire Company, Box 553 or to her church, 141 Little York-Mount Pleasant Road, both Milford 08848.

Irene Papics died on 13 May 2004 at Three Bridges, Hunterdon County, NJ, USA, at age 79. Irene Biscar, 79, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, May 13, 2004, in Brakeley Park Care Center, Phillipsburg. Born: March 15, 1925, in Milford, a daughter of the late Michael and Helen Szabo Papics. Personal: Her husband, Jack, died in 1997. She had attended Milford Public School and graduated from Frenchtown High School in 1943. She had worked at Riegel Paper Corp. and then moved to South Bend, Ind. where she resided for over 50 years before moving to Melbourne, Fla. in 2002. During that time she worked for St. Mary's College in South Bend for over 20 years as a hall director, retiring in 1989. Irene enjoyed flowers and crafts. Memberships: She was a member of Holy Cross Church in South Bend, Ind. Survivors: a brother, Frank Papics of Colbert, Ga; four sisters, Anna Gruver of Milford, Matilda Hotchkin of Three Bridges, N.J., Margaret Oram of Oxford and Elizbeth Berner of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. A son, Bryan Biscar died in 1980. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Michael, Stephen and John Papics. Services: Services will be private at the W.E. Johnson Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Holland Township. Interment will be in Frenchtown Cemetery, Frenchtown. Memorials: to Care Alternatives, 70 Jackson Drive, Suite 200, Cranford, NJ 07016.

THREE BRIDGES, NJ - Born in Milford, NJ, and a 1944 graduate of Frenchtown High School, Matilda Papics Hotchkin, age 87 years, of Three Bridges, NJ passed into the hands of Our Lord on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at her home.
Tillie, as she was known to her friends, was a long time member of the Three Bridges Reformed Church and Three Bridges Fire Company. Prior to her retirement, she was a school bus driver for the Flemington-Raritan and Hunterdon Central High School districts for thirty years. Always involved in service, she volunteered for the Readington Township Board of Elections and the Hunterdon Medical Center. She was an active member of the East Amwell Senior Club, various bowling leagues, and a charter member of the Y-Knots Camping Club. She will be remembered for her boundless energy and kind nature, always ready with a word of praise or encouragement to everyone she encountered. Her joys were traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Daughter of Michael and Helen Szabo Papics, she was pre-deceased by her husband of forty-seven years, Harold (Hotch) Hotchkin. Surviving are a son, H. Donald Hotchkin and his wife Patricia of Flemington, NJ; a daughter, Lynn Sheard and her husband Jeff of Plainsboro, NJ. She was blessed with four grandsons, Christopher, Scott, and Ryan Hotchkin of Flemington, NJ, and Glenn Sheard of Plainsboro, NJ; one granddaughter, Adrienne Sheard Howe and her husband Aaron Howe of Honolulu, HI; and her siblings: Peg Oram of Oxford, NJ, Liz Berner of Washington, NJ, and Frank Papics and his wife Alma of Colbert, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 AM in the Three Bridges Reformed Church, Main Street, Three Bridges, NJ. Interment will follow in Three Bridges Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 6-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
