Samuel Wilcox Jr. was born on 2 January 1742 at Peru, Berkshire County, MA, USA. He was the son of Samuel Wilcox and Ann Carpenter. He married Lois Cogswell at Preston, New London County, CT, USA, on 22 June 1763. Samuel Wilcox Jr. was a Capt ., andserved in Battle of Breed Hill, during the Revolutionary War. He was buried at DeWitt Cemetery, at Syracuse, Onondaga County, NY, USA.
He was commissioned Cap't., 1775, and participated in the battle of Breed's Hill; later accompanioned Benedict Arnold through the forest to Quebec, where he joined the Continental Army under General Montgomery.
According to some accounts this soldier was born in Peru, Mass., Jan. 2, 1744. One says he died June 28, 1827, aged 83 years, arid this is the statement in Onondaga's Centennial: "In 1798 Capt Samuel Wilcox, an officer and a prisoner in the Revolutionary war, came from Peru, Mass., (where he was born January 2, 1744), and located on 640 acres at what is now Lyndon, W. of and near Fayetteville, where he died June 28, 1827." Samuel Wilcocks was a 2d Lieutenant in Patterson's regiment, and was at Bunker Hill and also at Quebec. He returned thence in '76. Afterward he was captured and placed in a prison ship. In 1790 his name was recorded at Westport, Mass.

Elaine was the daughter of the late James and Grace (Weatherald) Willett. She had resided in the Clio area since 1997 coming from Prescott. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Elaine married Rudolph Waikuiki on December 19,1936 in Flint. He preceded her in death in September 1979. She then married Walter Wright. He preceded her in death.
Elaine taught cooking classes and cake decorating for the Mott Foundation for over 20 years and was also a buyer for Clarks Store Fixtures for 13 years, retiring in 1979.
Surviving are daughters Kaye, Cheryl; grandchildren Timothy, Jamie, Michelle; great grandchildren Robert, Ashley, and Billy.
Brother Warren.
Elaine was preceded in death by her 3 brothers Clinton, Alanson and Phillip.. She was buried at Flint Memorial Park, at Mount Morris, Genesee County, MI, USA. Widow of Walter Wright at death.
