Aunt Bet Andrews died Sunday night after being in bad health for a long time though confined to her bed for but a few days. She was over seventy years old and died at the home of Mr. Bullard on Gordan Street. She had made preparations to move to her son's Mr. Arch Edwards of Augusta but was taken seriously ill and thus prevented. She was married twice, the last time to Mr. Asbury Andrews, who was once ordinary of Elbert County. She leaves a large number of grandchildren and one son. She was buried at Stinchcomb church this morning, surrounded by her numerous friends and relatives. She has lived here all her life and has endeared herself to all who knew her by her deeds of love and Christian charity. Her first husband Joseph Tarpley Edwards. Daughter of Benjamin W. Sayre and Loretta Tombs. Her children: Benjamin Fletcher Edward, Archibald Edwards and Wesley Edwards.. She was buried at Stinchcomb Cemetery, at Elbert County, GA, USA.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00, Friday, May 6, at the Fairplain Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, 1053 E. Napier, in Benton Harbor, with Pastor Mike Schoeplein officiating. Burial will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00. Memorials may be made to the Road to Life Church.
Edith was born on February 17, 1914, in Manitoba, Canada. She was one of 13 children born to William and Matilda Schermer. Edith married Henry W. Gustine on May 5, 1935. Together they had three children. Edith enjoyed flower gardening and flower arranging. She was also known for her knitting and interior decorating. Edith loved her Lord and was a member of the Road to Life Church in St. Joseph. She will be remembered for her outgoing hospitality to anyone she met.
Edith is survived by her children, Delores Raines of Benton Harbor, Janet (Kenneth) Ridgeway of Stevensville and Richard Gustine of Richmond, VA; eight grand children; 16 great-grandchildren; and by 13 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband He. She was buried at Crystal Springs Cemetery, at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA.
