     Talma C. Hendrick personal diary of about 1900 calls her Sickes and that is what the records of Wallingford, CT call her; but the records of Springfield, MA say that she is the daughter of Increase and Abigail Sikes. They lived on a farm that is now part of Cheshire, MA.

Howard Nearing Silvernail died on 25 August 2005 at Otego, Otsego County, NY, USA, at age 83. Howard Silvernail
OTEGO — Howard N. Silvernail, 83, of Otego passed away Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta.
He was born June 8, 1922, in Butternuts, the son of Leland J. and Beatrice (Nearing) Silvernail.
Howard was married to Jeanne L. deMontaigue on July 28, 1961, in New Orleans, La. Mrs. Silvernail predeceased Howard on July 29, 2005.
Howard, a resident of Otego for 30 years, was a retired supervisor for Amphenol Corporation of Sidney.
He is survived by his stepsons and stepdaughter-in-law, Louis and Eileen York of Acton, Mass., and Robert York of Otego; his brothers, Fred of Rochester, Neal of Rhinebeck, Mike of Largo Fla., and Larry of Rochester; and his sisters, Frances Sherburne of Morrisville, Ruth Bell of Oneonta, Nita Bryant of Pleasant Valley, Donna Silvernail of Edmeston, Joeann Buerkert of Tomball, Texas, and Sharon Ellison of East Syracuse. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held later at the convenience of the family in the Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.
There will be no calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are by the Westcott Funeral Home Inc., 123 Main St., Unadilla, under the direction of James S. Westcott and James C. Magee, funeral directors..1 He was buried at Woodland Cemetery, at Delhi, Delaware County, NY, USA.
