Les was born in Cass City, Michigan on March 9, 1939, the son of Mark and Isabelle (Hendrick) O'Dell. He graduated from Cass City High School with the class of 1957. He resided in Cass City, moving to Ashley in 1966. On November 23 1957 Lester married Joan Fuester in Cass City, Michigan. He was a carpenter who specialized in custom wooden stairs and residential home building. Les enjoyed golfing and sports, especially MSU Football and he looked forward to deer camp every year. His grandchildren were very important to him. Les was a member of East Washington United Brethren Church, Ashley, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife Joan O'Dell of Ashley, MI, 1 daughter Peggy and Matthew Martin, 2 sons; Brad O'Dell, Brian and Annette O'Dell, 9 grandchildren; Rick, Eric, Brent, Mitchell Lutge, Krystin and Gregg Sankey, Tyler O’Dell, Jenna, Brig and Brooke O’Dell, 10 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Dr. Arthur and Anne O'Dell, and Rev. Grant and Debbie O'Dell. He was predeceased by his parents, 3 sons; Les, Ricky, and Rodney, and 1 brother David.
