The cemetery records give another date of 11 May 1831 in New York state.1 He was the son of Lafayette Ludington and Anna Hotchkin. George W. Ludington married Sarah H. Barnes on 26 June 1859 at Westport, Jackson County, KS, USA. Westport in now a historic neighborhood in Kansas City, MO. Their wedding document gives her name as Sarah H. barnes.. George W. Ludington died in 1889 at Topeka, Shawnee County, KS, USA. He was buried at Topeka Cemetery, at Topeka, Shawnee County, KS, USA.
He is called a grandson in Hubbard Hotchkin' Will.

Ludington's Comrades Attend The Funeral
Six Members of the Twentieth Kansas were the Pall Bearers
The funeral services of the late Guy Ludington, who died from injuries received in the explosion of paint while on duty as a member of the Santa Fe Fire Department, were held yesterday afternoon at the Wesleyan Methodist Church at the corner of Third and Jefferson streets.
The funeral was attended by a large number of railroad men and friends of the deceased, by Chief Wilmarth of the city fire department and Col. Wilder B. Metcalf of the Kansas Twentieth. Floral offerings were sent by the Santa Fe fire department, water department, where Ludington was employed, also by Company A of the Kansas National Guards and numerous others. Rev. C. F. Karcuff, pastor of the church which Mr. Ludington was a member preaches the funeral services.
Guy W. Ludington was a member of the volunteer fire department of the Santa Fe and was 30 years old and is survived by his wife and three brothers, two of whom are residents of this city and are employees of the Santa Fe.
While the body lay in the church, the casket was draped with an American Flag and covered by the floral offerings.
After the services the body was escorted to the Topeka Cemetery by a squad from Company A Kansas National Guards and by the uninjured members of the fire department who were on duty at the time of the accident.
When the procession arrived at the cemetery a short service was held which was followed by the firing of a salute by the squad of the National Guards and the sounding of taps. The pall bearers were members of Company A Kansas National Guards as follows: George Rethemeyer, Bert Stuart, A. R. Myrter, Robert Tasker, Murry Foltz and George Christianson, all of whom were members of the Twentieth Kansas regiment during the Spanish-American War and comrades of Ludington.. He was buried at Topeka Cemetery, at Topeka, Shawnee County, KS, USA. ]CO A 20 KS INF
