On the afternoon of February 23d, George M. Reynolds passed from earth in the 84th year of his age. In the death of Mr. Reynolds, Rayville loses the central and most prominent figure of the society and neighborhood and a blank is left which will not be filled. Erect and active in body and mind as in middle age, with all the weight of years, it was never possible to think of him as an old man. Nearly 59 years since he was married to Mary M. Ray, by the late Judge George C. Clyde. Of the large company who witnessed the ceremony, only the writer and two others are living. Mrs. Reynolds survives. So perfect a union of man and woman as all these serene and happy years have proven is seldom seen.
Mr. Reynolds was born and has always resided in the house in which his last days were passed. Born in the Friends Society which was for many generations the faith of all of this region, he was one of its most active and vitally interested supporters. Its decay by the gradual death of its members and final extinction, was one of the few troubles of his life. Always a firm and stalwart republican, his party was never able to induce him to accept a nomination for office, though many earnest efforts were made and his place at the polls was never vacant.
No child was born to Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds, but from a daughter and grandchildren by adoption, they have received most devoted and faithful service. In all the 59 years it has seemed that life flowed on like a river, but a work dropped sometimes has indicated a fear of the time that must come when the one would be taken and the other left and it has come to the frail and stricken wife. the funeral services were held at the house on Friday conducted by James Stringham. Interment in Friends burying ground.. He was buried at Friends Cemetery, at Rayville, Columbia County, NY, USA.

     Grace A. Reynolds was born on 23 February 1871 at VT, USA. She married Edward Austin Howard, son of Samuel J. Howard and Margaret Brooke, circa 1894 at VT. Grace A. Reynolds died on 16 May 1897 at VT at age 26. She was buried at Milton Village Cemetery, at Milton, Chittenden County, VT, USA.

     Hermon Reynolds was born in August 1831 at Clinton County, NY, USA. He was the son of James Reynolds and Laura Bullis.¹ Hermon Reynolds died on 4 September 1908 at Rockingham, Windham County, VT, USA, at age 77. Vermont Vital Records 1720- 1908. He was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, at Bellows Falls, Windham County, VT, USA.

     James Reynolds was born on 17 April 1806 at NY, USA.¹ He was the son of James B. Reynolds and Amy Burlingame. James Reynolds married Laura Bullis at NY.¹ James Reynolds appeared on the census of 1860 at Dannemora, Clinton County, NY, USA. The census lists the family as: James Reynolds, 54, shoe maker, born NY; Laura, 50, born NY; Charles, 16, born NY.. He died on 24 October 1862 at NY at age 56.¹

     Talma reports that James lived in Plattsburg, NY and had four children, Harmon, John B., Charles, and Amanda.¹

     James B. Reynolds was born on 4 November 1774 at VT, USA. He married Amy Burlingame at VT on 27 January 1796.¹ He married Mary Kinberly Sturtevant at Chittenden County, VT, USA, on 16 April 1810.¹ James B. Reynolds died on 2 January 1834 at West Haven, New Haven County, CT, USA, at age 59. Talma says that he died at 5:30 am aged 61 yrs, 7mo, 16 days..² He was buried at West Haven Green Cemetery, at West Haven, New Haven County, CT, USA.

     John Bullis Reynolds was born in December 1839 at Clinton County, NY, USA. Age 11 at the 1850 census.² He was the son of James Reynolds and Laura Bullis.¹ John Bullis Reynolds died on 16 March 1927 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, CA, USA, at age 87.² He was buried at Harbor View Cemetery, at San Pedro, Los Angeles County, CA, USA.

     Laura A. Reynolds was born in 1847 at Clinton County, NY, USA. She was the daughter of James Reynolds and Laura Bullis.

     Lucinda Reynolds was born on 23 October 1821 at OH, USA.¹ She was the daughter of James B. Reynolds and Mary Kinberly Sturtevant. Lucinda Reynolds died on 20 October 1826 at OH at age 4.¹

     Maud I. Reynolds was born on 6 April 1869 at Woodhull, Steuben County, NY, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Willet A. Reynolds and Emily Experience Smith. Maud I. Reynolds died on 1 February 1929 at Westfield, Tioga County, PA, USA, at age 59.¹ She was buried at Osceola Cemetery, at Osceola, Lewis County, NY, USA. Wife of C. Spoor.

     At the 1880 census of Troupsburg, NY; Maude is show as adopted by the Metz family. It is not clear whether she is adopted by William and his wife or by their son Clark and his wife.

     Nancy E. Reynolds was born in 1829 at NY, USA. She married John K. Fellows circa 1865 at NY. Nancy E. Reynolds appeared on the census of 1880. The census lists the family as: John K. Fellows, 52, born VT, parents born VT; wife Nancy E. 51, born NY, father born NY, mother born NJ; son Bertie J, 12, born NY.. She died on 22 June 1905 at Wilson, Niagara County, NY, USA. Mrs. Nancy Fellows died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carrie Weaver, of the Coomer Road, Thursday morning, June 22, 1905, aged 76 years. She is survived by six children, Mrs. Mudge of Wilson, Mrs. Charles Loomis and Wilbur Fellows of Lockport, Andrew Fellows of Denver, Col., Mrs. Carrie Weaver of Newfane, and Bert Fellows of Cambria. Also one sister, Mrs. Krupp of Newfane.
The funeral will be held from the house Saturday at 2 o'clock.
