Daughter of Timothy and Hannah Bronson.⁶

     The History of Cornwall by Starr gives the surname as Brunson. The Masschusetts Death records call her Anna Bronson or Brouse Hotchkin and give parents as Timothy and Hannah.

     Edna Brooke was born on 25 May 1895 at Jasper County, IA, USA.¹ She married Vincent Depaul Hotchkin at Grinnell, Poweshiek County, IA, USA, on 30 January 1918. Edna Brooke died on 11 June 1988 at Escondido, San Diego County, CA, USA, at age 93. Edna Brooke Hotchkin, 93, died Saturday, June 11, at the Mayflower Home Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with chaplain of the Mayflower Home officiating. Fraternal rites will be conducted by members of the Rebekah Lodge, with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of D. A. and Sadie Jeanette Sanderson Brooke, she was born April 25, 1895, in the Bethel area of Jasper County. She attended rural school in Richland Township. She graduated from Grinnell High School and attended Grinnell College. She taught in Chester Center School north of Grinnell.

She was married to Vincent D. Hotchkin Jan 29, 1918, in Grinnell. The couple farmed in Jasper County, then moved to Grant Township in Poweshiek County in 1936.

Mrs. Hotchkin was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Pythian Sisters, the Rebekah Lodge, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of Union Veterans, the Daughters of American Colonists, the Harmony Ladies Aid and the United Church of Christ-Congregational. She had been a resident of the Mayflower Home since her husband's death in 1973.

Surviving are her two sons, Stanley of Newton and Roger of Independence, MO; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mabel Brooke Moore of St. Francis Manor.

Mrs. Effie Hendrick, 72, wife of Theo C. Hendrick and life-long resident of Cass City, died June 5 in Hills and Dales General Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Hendrick was born in Sanilac County, June 25, 1895, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brown. She and Theo Hendrick were married June 24, 1915.
She is survived by her husband; four daughters, Mrs. George Fisher Sr. and Mrs. Irene O'Dell of Cass City; Mrs. Isabell O'Dell of Johnson City, N.Y; and Mrs. Sherwell Kelly of New Boston; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and one brother, Fred Brown of Pallatine, Ill.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Little's Funeral Home. Rev. Willis Braun, pastor of Sunshine United Methodist Church, Rev. Arthur O'Dell, a grandson, and Rev. Alfred Gascho, officiated.
