Jones, age 51, b MA, wife Anna, age 51, b CT, son Augustus, age 19, b NY, son Lyman, age 15, b NY, son George, age 14, b NY, son Miles, age 12, b NY, son Francis, age 9, b NY, and Jane Hodgkins, age 12, female, b NY. Property valued $800.00, census dated 24 July 1850.. He resided at Jackson, Jackson County, MI, USA, in 1850. He died on 2 January 1879 at Spring Arbor, Jackson County, MI. Both appear in the 1870 census but not the 1880. Cemetery records.. He was buried at Spring Arbor Cemetery, at Spring Arbor, Jackson County, MI, USA.

     Lyman and Anna moved to Jackson County, MI after 1841 as the 1850 census says that their youngest son Francis, age 9, was born in NY. The marriage of Lyman Jones to Anna Hotchkin is according to Talcott Families and also covered in the Argus newspaper of Albany, NY, when Noah III Will probate was advertised. Living with them at the 1850 census was a Jane Hodgkins, age 12, b 1838. The first name is difficult to be sure of. Daniel and Minerva are also close by and he is listed as Hodgkins so Jane is likely a member of his family.This census seems to give Anna's name as Amy, but it is very hard to read.

Nellie Ethelyn Jones

     Nellie Ethelyn Jones was born on 30 October 1879 at Fremont, Steuben County, IN, USA. She was the daughter of George N. Jones and Alice Welker. Nellie Ethelyn Jones died on 20 January 1922 at Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, MI, USA, at age 42. She was buried at Knauss Cemetery, at Kinderhook, Branch County, MI, USA.

     Nellie was considered a very bright young lady. She was in the top ten of her class academically, Vice President of her class and class Prophet. Following graduation, she became Branch County Deputy Register of Deeds for three years. It was during this time she met Harry Lafler and they were married in 1904. They moved to Chicago where Harry was a Conductor for the Chicago City Railroad Company. !n 1906, when Nellie was pregnant, they purchased a farm and moved back to Kinderhook, Michigan. They lived in Kinderhook until Nellie became very ill when they moved to Coldwater to be near medical care. Her situation became worse and she was transferred to the University of Michigan Hospital were she was diagnosed with pernicious anemia and at the age of 42 years, 2 months & 21 days she passed away in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Noah Hotchkin Jones married Sarah Jane Flint, daughter of Aseryl Flint Jr. and Saloma Sumner, on 19 May 1850 at Eckford Twp, Calhoun County, MI, USA. Marriage according to the Flint genealogy. The Michigan marriage records have a record for both the 14th and the 19th of May..2 Noah Hotchkin Jones appeared on the census of 1870 at Kinderhook, Branch County, MI, USA. The census lists the family as: Noah H. Jones, 44, born NY, farmer; Sarah J., 34, keep house, born VT; George M., 15, born MI; Luman A., 12, born MI; Miles A., 7, born MI.. He died on 22 January 1912 at Kinderhook, Branch County, MI, at age 86. Died of Catarrhal Bronchitis according to the Flint Genealogy..1 He was buried at Knauss Cemetery, at Kinderhook, Branch County, MI, USA.

     Accorrding to the Flint Genealogy he came from Parma, Monroe Co, NY. At the age of 18, he and his parents moved to Spring Arbor, MI. He and Sarah Jane were members of the Kinderhook Baptist Church. At various times he was elected to township offices and as deputy sheriff.

Orrin Dates Jones appeared on the census of 1840 at Oil Creek, Crawford County, PA, USA. The census lists the family as: Oren D. Jones, 1 male under 5, 2 male 5-10, 1 male 10-15, 1 male 20-30, 1 male 40-50; 1 female 10-15, 1 female 40-50.. He died on 15 May 1862 at ME, USA, at age 70. He is not with Sally at the 1850 census.. He was buried at Riverside Cemetery, at Lewiston, Androscoggin County, ME, USA. There is a lot of question if I have the right person here as his wife ic called Thirz..

     Orin D. Jones is listed in the records of the Caledonia Baptist Church along with Seneca Jones and it is likely that he and Sally Hotchkin were married in Caledonia, NY.
Possible that this is Orrin Dates Jones born 20 Oct 1791 in Conway, MA, listed in MA, town Vital Records 1620 to 1988. However a lot of records give him a marriage to Theresa and burial in Maine.

Survived are two sons, Howard of Leslie and Gerald of Concord; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Phyllis) Barnes of Gilbertsville, KY and Mrs. Oliver (Carol) Holt of Concord; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Miles of Concord and John of Florida; three sisters, Marie Lippert, Mrs. Donald (Harriet) Goll and Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) Rulewicz, all of Concord.
