     Phillip Warner Hodgkins was born on 12 June 1946 at Boston, Suffolk County, MA, USA. He was the son of Frederick Warner Hodgkins and Helen Emma Cummings. Phillip Warner Hodgkins died on 15 September 2014 at Searsport, Waldo County, ME, USA, at age 68. He was buried at Fayette Mills Cemetery, at Fayette, Kennebec County, ME, USA.

     Philip Warner Hodgkins, 68, of Searsport, Maine, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Maine, surrounded by his family. Phil was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on June 12, 1946, to Frederick Warner and Helen (Cummings) Hodgkins.

The family moved to Sandwich, Massachusetts, when he was 3 years old and he attended 12 years at Henry T. Wing School there. After graduation, Phil joined the Army and did a tour overseas, primarily in Germany.

Upon his return, he went to work at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute as a chief engineer on the research vessel Lulu. The Lulu was best known for carrying the Alvin, a deep-sea submersible vehicle, across the equator to the Galapagos Rift. This trip earned Philip the distinguished title of "Crusty Shellback" on 2/17/77. He was later employed for 27 years as a tugboat captain for Packer Marine Company, based in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts. In 1988, Philip moved to Maine to be close to his family, maintaining a home in Searsport while continuing to commute to his work. He was never far from the ocean; he lived, loved and worked all of his adult life there. Phil loved his family, his friends, his walks on Sears Island, motorcycles and being a tugboat captain; he will be terribly missed.

Philip was predeceased by his parents; and infant sister Melanie Hodgkins.

He is survived by his loving sister, Doris (Hodgkins) Morris; and his brother, Stephen (and wife Jo-Ellen) Hodgkins, both of Fayette, Maine; his nieces, Adrienne Lucey (Thomas), and Melanie Lessard (Mark); nephew Jason Curtis (Amy); and great-nieces and -nephew: Emma, Charlotte, Nathan, Isabel and Sophie.

A celebration of Phil's life is planned for a later date, to be announced; his family will have a private gathering at his final resting place at Fayette Mills Cemetery in Fayette, Maine. (Kennebec Journal 9/26/2014).

     Phyllis Josephine Hodgkins was born in 1932. She was the daughter of Walter William Hodgkins and Myetle Mae Stephenson. Phyllis Josephine Hodgkins died in 2014.

     Priscelle A Hodgkins is the daughter of William Voght Hodgkins and Marie Louise Lyons.

     Ray Warner Hodgkins was born on 19 January 1875 at Rochcester, Windsor County, VT, USA. He was the son of Warner Don Hodgkins and Frances Jeanette Knowlton. Ray Warner Hodgkins married Florence Evylin Fielding in 1904. Ray Warner Hodgkins died on 19 March 1938 at Melrose, Middlesex County, MA, USA, at age 63.

     Rena Villa Hodgkins was born in 1875. She was the daughter of William H Hodgkins and Ellen Clarice Stewart.

     Robert Clifton Hodgkins III is the son of Robert Clifton Hodgkins Jr. and Pamela Maria Tosi.

     Robert Clifton Hodgkins Jr. was born on 12 November 1939 at Springfield, Hampden County, MA, USA. He was the son of Robert Clifton Hodgkins Sr. and Margaret Merry McConnell. Robert Clifton Hodgkins Jr. married Pamela Maria Tosi on 18 May 1974 at MA, USA. Robert Clifton Hodgkins Jr. died on 11 July 2005 at Deerfield, Franklin County, MA, USA, at age 65. He was buried at Village Hill Cemetery, at Williamsburg, Hampshire County, MA, USA.

     Robert Clifton Hodgkins Sr. was born on 25 January 1899 at Northhampton, Hampshire County, MA, USA.¹ He was the son of Clarence Elberton Hodgkins and Susie Adwlla Beman. Robert Clifton Hodgkins Sr. married Margaret Merry McConnell in 1933 at Northampton, Hampshire County, MA, USA. Robert Clifton Hodgkins Sr. died on 27 January 1956 at Northhampton, Hampshire County, MA, at age 57.¹ He was buried at Village Hill Cemetery, at Williamsburg, Hampshire County, MA, USA.

     Royal Tupper Hodgkins was born on 19 September 1873 at Rochester, Windsor County, VT, USA. He was the son of Hiram Hodgkins Jr. and Frances Martin Emerson. Royal Tupper Hodgkins married Helen Adele Wilson on 24 September 1906. Royal Tupper Hodgkins died on 31 January 1938 at Great Neck, Plaza County, NY, USA, at age 64.

     Ruth Adele Hodgkins was born on 22 February 1908 at New York City, New York County, NY, USA. She was the daughter of Royal Tupper Hodgkins and Helen Adele Wilson. Ruth Adele Hodgkins died on 25 October 1988 at Sarasota County, FL, USA, at age 80.

     Ruth Jeanette Hodgkins was born in 1902. She was the daughter of Guy Sumner Hodgkins and Maud Emily Chedel. Ruth Jeanette Hodgkins died in 1938.

     Sallie Marie Hodgkins was born on 25 June 1813 at Rochester, Windsor County, VT, USA. She was the daughter of Thomas Hodgkins and Dolly Hubbard. Sallie Marie Hodgkins died on 12 September 1856 at Rochester, Windsor County, VT, at age 43.

     Scott C Hodgkins was born in 1858. He was the son of Elisha Fuller Hodgkins and Susan Harriet Chamberlain. Scott C Hodgkins died in 1926.

     Stephen A Hodgkins is the son of Frederick Warner Hodgkins and Helen Emma Cummings. Stephen A Hodgkins married Jo Ellen Hughes on 29 March 1985.

     Sumner A Hodgkins was born on 11 August 1839 at New Haven, Addison County, VT, USA. He was the son of Thomas Hodgkins Jr. and Lodisa Amidon. Sumner A Hodgkins died on 2 January 1914 at Belchertown, Hampshire County, MA, USA, at age 74.

     Tamer Hodgkins was born on 6 November 1823 at Rochester, Windsor County, VT, USA. She was the daughter of Thomas Hodgkins and Dolly Hubbard. Tamer Hodgkins died on 28 June 1883 at Brandon, Rutland County, VT, USA, at age 59.

     Thomas Hodgkins was born at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, USA, on 26 July 1740.³ He was the son of Joseph Hodgkin Jr. Ens. and Lydia Redfield. He married Elizabeth Parmelee at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, on 4 June 1758. They were married at the 4th Congregational Church..^4,5 Thomas Hodgkins was a Clerk, andserved in the Capt Hand's Co, Col Talcott's Regt, during the Revolutionary War. He married Eunice Rose at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, after 1787. Thomas Hodgkins appeared on the census of 1800 at Guilford, New Haven County, CT. The census lists the family as: Hotchkin, Thom, 1 male 10 and under, 1 male 45 and older; 1 female 16 thru 25, 1 female over 45.. He died on 27 May 1825 at East Guilford, New Haven County, CT, USA, at age 84. This approximate date is confirmed by son's Ambrose Pension File.
According to Church Records he died at the Almshouse..

     Guilford Records, Vol 7, pg 143 says that Thomas of East Guilford, died May 27 1825 at the almshouse, age 85. Thomas and Elizabeth became members of the First Congregational Church of Madison in 1791, according to Vol 6, pg 16 of Church Records. Steiner says that Thomas was a clerk in Capt. Hand's Company, Col. Talcott's Regt in the Revolutionary War.

     Thomas Hodgkins was born on 8 September 1782 at Pittsfield, Rutland County, VT, USA. He was the son of Col.Thomas Hodgkins Jr. and Tryphenia Durkee. Walter William Hodgkins married Myetle Mae Stephenson on 25 December 1930. Walter William Hodgkins died on 15 June 1973 at age 70. He was buried at Valley Cemetery, at Pelham, Hampshirw County, MA, USA.

     Walter is the son of Wesley Hodgkins & Josephine Nichols.
He married (2nd) Myrtle Mae Stephenson on 25 Dec 1930 at Randolph, VT.
He died of metastatic bone cancer.

     Warner Don was born (a twin of Wardner Dan) on Oct 27, 1837, to Thomas Hodgkins and Lodisa Amidon in Brandon, Rutland, Vermont, USA. He married Frances Jeanette Knowlton (1838-1904) in Rochester, Windsor, Vermont, USA on Nov 27, 1860. They had 4 sons, Leslie Merton (1864-1939), Guy Sumner (1869-1943), Perley Knowlton (1872-1940), and Ray Warner (1875-1938).

     Wesley George Hodgkins married Louie Steele. Wesley George Hodgkins was born on 17 March 1865 at Rochester, Windsor County, VT, USA. He was the son of Wardner Dan Hodgkins and Mary Janette Swift. Wesley George Hodgkins married Josephine Ellen Nichols on 5 May 1887. Wesley George Hodgkins died on 4 March 1945 at Randolph, Orange County, VT, USA, at age 79. He was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery, at Rochester, Windsor County, VT, USA.
