Lovisa Bigelow was born on 5 August 1824 at Clarkson, Monroe County, NY, USA. The 1900 census says Aug 1825, age 74. The 1870 census of Rivesw Twp, Jackson County, MI would give a date of 1826- 1827. She was the daughter of Ephrain Bigelow and Electa Smith. She married William Holden Clark at MI, USA, circa 1843.2 Lovisa Bigelow appeared on the census of 1910 at Grand Rapids, Kent County, MI, USA. The census lists the family as: William R. Matthews, 54, born MI, married 25 years, Minister, parents born NY; wife Marietta, 45, born MI, married 25 years; 2 children, 2 living, father born P, mother born NY; son Dan H. (not clear that this is Dan or Don), 24, married 3 years, 1 child, 1 livng, born MS, parents birth just has a line, son William W., 17, single, born MI; dau Grace B., 14, single, born MI; mother-in-law Lovisa, 85, widow, 2 children, 1 living, born NY.. She died on 28 July 1913 at Jackson, Jackson County, MI, USA, at age 88. Widowed at time of death according to MI Deaths. MI Deaths give parents as Silas Bigelow and Leeta Smith..3 She was buried at Woodland Cemetery, at Jackson, Jackson County, MI, USA.

The reunion records give all of the additional children but the 1910 census says that she had only 2 children, one of them was still living. The 1900 census claims that she had 6 children, 2 living at that time.
