Golda B. George, 96, of Gladwin, died Sunday, May 18, 1997 after a short illness at the Gladwin Pines Nursing Home, Gladwin. Born April 6, 1901 in Clio, she was a homemaker and a member of the Wooden Shoe United Methodist Church. The former Golda Wetherald married Edwin George in 1922 in Flint.

Surviving are two sons, Robert and wife Barbara of Columbiaville and Edwin and wife Gail of Escondido, Calif; two daughter-in-laws, Betty George of Gladwin and Joan George of Northville; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and three sisters.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel with the Rev. Donald Haskell officiating. Burial will be in the Arbutus Cemetery in Beaverton.
