     Dick E. Hotchkin and his wife Marion E. appears in the Daytona City Directory for 1956 residing at 210 Granada and he is employed at Richard Jewelers. A 1961 directory has Dick at the same employment but Marion is not listed. There were very few directories available for this time period.

According to the records they were married twice and divorced twice.

He married Charlotte Sarah (Lottie) Hepburn at Glencoe Farm near Hopkins, Hopkins, Nodaway County, MO, USA, on 17 May 1904.¹ Dick Ernest Hotchkin registered for the World War I Draft on 12 September 1918 while living at Maryville, Nodaway County, MO, USA. The registration card gave additional information on him: "He gives his age as 36, born 16 May 1882. He is a Retail Merchant at 111 W 3rd in Maryville. He gives Charlotte Hotchkin as his nearest relative.". He appeared on the census of 1920 at Polk, Nodaway County, MO, USA. The census lists the family as: Richard Hotchkins, owns home mortgaged, 36 (1883), Il, father born in NY, mother in IL; Charlotte, 36, m, born MO, father in Scot, mother in CAN, son Ralph, 11, single, in school, born MO; daughter Mildred, 7, single, in school, born MO.. He died on 13 January 1944 at Chicago, Cook County, IL, USA, at age 61.^2,3 He was buried at Miriam Cemetery, at Maryville, Nodaway County, MO, USA.

     A great deal of information about the family is contained in a couple of newspaper articles; Nodaway Democrat, May 26 1904; Maryville Daily Forum January 14 1944, Maryville Daily Forum January 13 1944 and Maryville Daily Forum February 16 1962. He had lived all his life in the Maryville, MO area and operated a Stationary Store. He died while he and his wife were on a shopping trip to Chicago. They started their Stationary business in February 1910. He had been a former City Councilman. His first name Richard is used at the 1910 census.

The registration card gave additional information on him: "He gives his name as Donald C. Hotchkin and birth in Binghamton, NY on 9 May 1897. He is a student at Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. He gives his nearest relative as father Charles F. Hotchkin.". He married Bertha Marie Evens at Binghamton, Broome County, NY, on 30 June 1920.^5,4 Donald Curtis Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1930 at Binghamton, Broome County, NY. The census lists the family as: Donald C.      Donald qualified himself as an expert appraiser for his fathers estate property by saying, "I reside at 165 Leroy St., Binghamton, am a licensed Real Estate Broker with offices at 73 State St and have worked 30 years in the business." The Binghamton City Directories show Donald as a partner of his fathers in Hotchkin & Sons. Donald and his wife Marie (Bertha) lived at 165 Leroy Street, Binghamton, NY, until they sold their house in 1987 and moved to Hilltop Manor in Johnson City. All of the city directories refer to her as Marie and not Bertha. Donald was in the Skilled Nursing Unit and Marie in the Retirement Unit until their deaths in 1990; which occurred very close together.

     Donald Dale Hotchkin was born on 8 August 1928 at Lansing, Ingham County, MI, USA. He was the son of Norris Fernold Hotchkin and Inis Norene Franklin. He married Dolores Joyce Shipski at Lansing, Ingham County, MI, on 13 August 1949.² He resided at Grand Ledge, Eaton County, MI, USA, in 1993. Donald Dale Hotchkin died on 6 December 2013 at Grand Ledge, Eaton County, MI, at age 85. Donald D. Hotchkin Grand Ledge Donald D. Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Dolores, daughter Lucinda (Clarence) Spitzley, four sons: Donn (Cathy), Bruce (Terri), Jeffrey, and Gary (Mary); 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, also sister Elaine (Jerry) Amos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norris and Inis Hotchkin and brother Norris. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2013 - 1:00 p.m. at the Peters & Murray Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, with visitations one hour prior to service time.      Don worked all his life for Oldsmobile in Lansing, MI. Some of his children moved to Texas and in their retirement, Don and Delores travel by motorhome to Texas during the cold Michigan winters.

     Donald was born at Arkansas City, Cowley County, KS, USA, on 17 February 1921. SS Applications gives the date as 17 feb 1920..¹ He was the son of Mac Leod Hotchkin and Susie May Heth. He married Beatrice Arlene Deal at Kay County, OK, USA, on 17 October 1940.² Donald Eugene Hotchkin Sr. and Beatrice Arlene Deal were divorced circa 1942 at KS, USA. He married Shirley Geraldine Snook at KS circa 1945. Donald Eugene Hotchkin Sr. enlsted on 8 November 1945 while living at Cowley County, KS, USA. His enlistment notes said: " Donald E. Hotchkin Sr., native of Kansas, Cowley County, enlisted in Signal Corps, Technician 4th Grade, Segt, Hawaiian Dept, Regular Army, source enlisted man, scout, or recall to AD of enlisted man transferred to ERC. He has 1 year of high school, divoreced without dependents.". He and Shirley Geraldine Snook were divorced circa 1965 at KS. He married Sue A. Unknown at KS on 27 July 1983. The marriage date is on their gravestone.. Donald died on 9 May 1996 at Arkansas City, Cowley County, KS, at age 75.³ He was buried at Hope Cemetery, at Arkansas City, Cowley County, KS, USA.

     Donald James Hotchkin was born on 12 November 1901 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA. He was age 8 at the 1910 census.¹ He was the son of James Elliott (Uncle Jim) Hotchkin and Sophia C. Weber. He married Julia Mae Smith at Jellico, Campbell County, TN, USA, on 17 December 1921.^2,3 Donald James Hotchkin appeared on the census of 1930 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI. The census lists the family as: Donal Hotchkin, 28 (1901), born in MI, parents born in MI, forst married at age 20, clerk in grocery store; wife Julia M., 26 (1903), born in KY, fayther born in KY, mother in TN, polisher in glass factory, first married at age 18; daughter Doris J., 6 (1923), born in MI; daughter Betty J., 4 3/12 (1925), born in MI.. He was a Grocer circa 1940. He died on 18 July 1946 at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, at age 44.⁴ He was buried at Crystal Springs Cemetery, at Benton Harbor, Berrien County, MI, USA.

     Donald James was a grocer in Benton Harbor, MI and his death certificate also described him as a machinist. According to his death certificate, he died at Mercy Hospital of intestinal blockage after an operation. He is buried in Crystal Springs Cemetery with a gravestone that also has his wife Julia's name on the stone; however, as of 1992 Julia is alive and living in TN.

     Doris Katherine Hotchkin was born on 10 March 1934 at Wapakoneta, Auglaize County, OH, USA. She was the daughter of Walter James Hotchkin and Pearl Lula May Rosell. She married Gerald Eugene Putland at OH, USA, on 9 June 1955. Doris Katherine Hotchkin and Gerald Eugene Putland were divorced on 14 October 1992 at Miami, Miami Dade County, FL, USA. On 10 sep 1993 Gerald married Leah Alberta Scheufel..¹ Doris Katherine Hotchkin died on 29 June 1999 at Miami, Miami Dade County, FL, at age 65. She was buried at Woodland Park Cemetery, at Miami, Miami Dade County, FL, USA.

     Doris' son Kenneth says that she was a Registered Nurse and earned her BS NR at Ohio State University.

     Doris Louise Hotchkin was born on 9 July 1930 at Lockport, Niagara County, NY, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Leon Stanley Hotchkin and Lenora May Bush. She married William Allen Saunders at Niagara County, NY, USA, in 1954.¹ Doris Louise Hotchkin died on 9 April 2018 at Lockport, Niagara County, NY, at age 87.

     In 1993, Doris was still working for the Social Service Dept. She sings in the church choir, has been in a number of musical groups and sings as a soloist for church weddings and other events. The Compiler and his wife met Doris, very briefly, when we visited Niagara County during 1992 conducting our family research. We had parked our motorhome in the Lockport Elks Lodge parking lot and called Doris and she kindly came over for a visit. We often use the local Elks Lodge parking lots as a temporary home when we are conducting genealogical research.

     Doris Mae Hotchkin was born on 23 April 1923 at Washington, Warren County, NJ, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Harold Donald Hotchkin Sr. and Charlotte Marguerite (Lottie) Leek. She married Rolland Earl Young at Washington, Warren County, NJ, on 4 July 1943. Married at the Methodist Church in Washington, Warren County, NJ.. Doris Mae Hotchkin died on 10 March 2004 at Hampton, Hunterdon County, NJ, USA, at age 80.^1,2 She was buried at Musconetong Valley Cemetery, at Hampton, Hunterdon County, NJ, USA.

     Doris supplied a lot of the information in the Brown book. Her address as of 1990 was in Washington, NJ.³

     Dorothy Alice Hotchkin was born on 14 March 1913 at Jasper County, IA, USA.¹ She was the daughter of James Alfred Hotchkin and Mary Frances Duggan. She married Proctor Odell Stepp at Rock Island, Rock Island County, IL, USA, on 31 October 1932. Dorothy Alice Hotchkin died on 16 January 2003 at Grinnell, Poweshiek County, IA, USA, at age 89.¹ She was buried at Hazelwood Cemetery, at Grinnell, Poweshiek County, IA, USA.

     Dorothy Virginia Hotchkin was born on 10 November 1909 at Binghamton, Broome County, NY, USA. She was the daughter of Charles Fenton Hotchkin and Cora Grace Bartoo. Dorothy Virginia Hotchkin married George Benjamin McClellan in 1930 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, PA, USA. Dorothy Virginia Hotchkin died on 5 September 2000 at Buffalo, Erie County, NY, USA, at age 90. Dorothy McClelland, a former resident of White Plains, died on September 5, 2000 at the Episcopal Church Home in Buffalo, NY. She was 90. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Grace Bartoo Hotchkin of Binghamton, NY. She graduated from the Philadelphia General School of Nursing in 1931 and was affiliated with White Plains Hospital for 40 years. She was married to the late George B. McClelland of White Plains. She is survived by two children Judith V. McClelland, Buffalo and Peter B. McClelland, Yarmouthport, MA and one grandson Brian McClelland Adams and his wife Sandra, Denver, CO. A private memorial service will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Episcopal Church Home, 24 Rhode Is. St., Buffalo, NY 14213.

     At Charles F. Hotchkin's death his obituary describes Dorothy as a sister. The Compiler believes that she is likely an adopted daughter. Called Dorothy McClelland in SS Deaths. Wife of George B. McClelland.

Hotchkin, native of NY, Sullivan County, enlisted at Ft Jay, Governors Island, branch inmaterial, Private, grammer school, height 69, weight 147.".      Geoffrey Brown says that Earl was the source of most of the information on the descendants of Albert Hotchkin and an active historian of that branch of the family. They resided on Aden Rd., Liberty, NY.
