Nixon's Regt of the MA Line, during the Revolutionary War. He died on 20 June 1829 at Hartland, Windsor County, VT, USA, at age 91. Died at age 83 according to a writer to the War Department..3,4 He was buried at Jenneville Cemetery, at Hartland, Windsor County, VT, USA.

     Talma says that he came from England, landed in Boston, MA where he lived for some time, was a patroit soldier during the revolution and died at age 99 years.
     Mrs G. W. Bortles of Albion, MI in a 1905 letter to the Pension Commission claimed that Thomas was involved in the Boston Tea Party and throw the Tea overboard.5

He married Abigail Barnes at Canaan, Litchfield County, CT, USA, on 7 December 1797.4,5 Abner Hochkin appeared on the census of 1800 at Cornwall, Litchfield County, CT. The census lists the family as: Hotchkiss, Abner, 1 male 26 to 44, 1 female under 10, 1 female 16 to 25. Living next door is Abram.. He died after 1830 at CT, USA.

     Abner's birth is listed in Talcott and NEHGR, Vol 58; he used the name Hochkin in Cornwall. His marriage to Abigail is listed in a Cornwall file called Cornwall Marriages. Frederic Bailey, "Early CT Marriages," 1968; gives Abigail's name as Barne. The Barbour Collection lists Abner under the name of Hocklin. It is evident that Abner had several daughters, one of whom was named Abigail as they are mentioned in his brother Oliver's Will; "If either one or more of the daughters of my brother Abner Hochkin will provide for and maintain Abigail, daughter of our said brother Abner, during the natural life of the said Abigail, then I give and bequeath to the daughters so supporting the said Abigail the sum of two hundred dollars, to be divided between them in the proportions that they have contributed to said Abigail..."

He married Sarah Stone at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, on 20 March 1755.4 Abraham Hochkin Jr. appeared on the census of 1800 at Cornwall, Litchfield County, CT, USA. The census lists the family as: Abraham Hotchkiss, 1 male 45 and over, 1 female 45 and over.. He died on 10 February 1815 at Cornwall, Litchfield County, CT, at age 83. Starr in the History of Cornwall give the date as 10 Feb 1816..5,6 He was buried at Cornwall Cemetery, at Cornwall, Litchfield County, CT, USA.7

     Abraham and his family lived first in Guilford and later in Cornwall. He is described in T.S. Gold, " Historical Records of Cornwall." Abraham, like all the family in Cornwall used a spelling of his surname without the t, (Hochkin). The gravestone of Abraham and Lettisa support the evidence that they used this spelling.

Oliver did business with a Mahala E. Hubbard and a Russell Hubbard in New Haven.The 1880 census of New Haven, CT has Russell and his wife Mahala E. Hubbard.
     The 1850 census of East Haddam, Middlesex County, Ct has a Chapman Hubbard with a wife called Mandee and a son and dau Andrew J, and Frances A. The 1880 census of the same place has Andrew J. with a wife Elizabeth and a mother Amanda.

     Charles E. Hochkin was born on 10 July 1838 at NY, USA. He was the son of Charles Henry Hochkin and Rebecca Mnu. Charles E. Hochkin married Isabel (Belle) Ayer on 16 May 1866 at Brunswick, Cumberland County, ME, USA. Charles E. Hochkin appeared on the census of 1880 at Newark, Essex County, NJ, USA. The census lists the family as: Charles Hochkins, age 41, born about 1839 in NY, married, father born CT, mother born NJ, occup. Pill Poster, wife Belle, age 36, born about 1844 in ME; dau Julia L., age 12, born about 1868 in NJ; dau Carrie E., age 10, born about 1870 in NJ; son E. M., age 8, born about 1872 in NJ; dau Jessie I., age 5, born about 1875 in NJ.. He died on 22 June 1906 at NJ, USA, at age 67. NJ Death Certificate, age 67 yr, 11 mo, 12 days. He was buried at Fairmount Cemetery, at Newark, Essex County, NJ, USA. Age 67 years
