After nearly completing her degree, she married Robert Eugene Johnson on Dec. 27, 1940. They shared 59 years of a loving marriage. They made their home in Worthington, Minn., and worked together in their paint and wallpaper business (Bob Johnson's Paint & Wallpaper) for many years. Before retiring, Georgia and Bob bought and ran a motel in Virginia. They eventually bought a lake home on Long Lake near Eveleth. After Robert's death in 1999, Georgia sold the lake home and bought a town home in Buhl. She also lived in a senior apartment in Virginia, and an assisted living home in Aitkin, before moving to the nursing home in Aitkin.

Georgia is survived by her children, Alan Johnson and wife Miriam Lindauer, Charlynn (Johnson) Christianson, and Robin (Johnson) Kellar and husband Charles; brother, Edward and wife Ellinor Webb; grandchildren, Robert Johnson, Erik Christianson, Adam Christianson, Jenna Christianson, and Daniel DuLong; nephews, Irving Webb Jr. and wife Joan, Patrick and wife Nora Webb, and Robert and wife Jane Hummelgard; nieces, Georgianna (Webb) Gault and Coralie (Webb) Rumbold.
