Updike, born 14 Nov 1893 in Thompsonville, MI. Farm labor, dependent mother. Single.". He died on 4 September 1942 at OR, USA, at age 48. This same date is reported in WA as death in Shamania, WA and in OR as Benton, OR..1,2 He was buried at Multnomah Park Cemetery, at Portland, Multnomah County, OR, USA.

It does give the location as Harlan, MI..2,3 She married William Frederick Seel at Copemish, Manistee County, MI, USA, on 5 November 1908.4 Cordelia (Delia) Valencourt appeared on the census of 1940 at Portland, Multnomah County, OR, USA. The census lists the family as: 1623 S E Ankeny St, Delia Hotchkin, Head, age 68 born 1872 MI, widow, same house in 1935.. She died on 2 October 1961 at Wilson Memorial Home, Elk Rapids, Antrim County, MI, USA, at age 90. Her obituary says that after World War II she lived in Oregon for several years..2 She was buried at Cleon Twp Cemetery, at Copemish, Manistee County, MI, USA. North Sec, County Road #604.
