     Hon. Nathaniel Bishop was born on 13 June 1751 at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, USA. Family bible records written in New System give the date as June 13 1751.1,2 He was the son of Beriah Bishop and Lucy Morse. He married Ruth Bartlett at Guilford, New Haven County, CT, on 29 September 1773.1 Hon. Nathaniel Bishop was a 1st Lieut., andserved in Capt. Nathaniel Webb's Company, Col. John Durkee's Regt. of the CT Line, during the Revolutionary War. He married Nancy Pomeroy on 2 March 1797 at Middletown, Middlesex County, CT, USA. Married by Rev Enoch Huntington..1 Hon. Nathaniel Bishop married Sarah (Sally) Landon in April 1798 at Salisbury, Litchfield County, CT, USA. Married by Adonjah Strong Esq..1 Hon. Nathaniel Bishop died on 1 February 1826 at Richmond, Berkshire County, MA, USA, at age 74. He was buried at Center Cemetery, at Richmond, Berkshire County, MA, USA.

     Son of Beriah and Lucy Bishop. Married Ruth Bartlett, daughter of Hooker Bartlett and wife Ruth Parmelee, on September 29, 1773 in Guilford, Connecticut. They had seven children: Lucy; Elizabeth; Beriah; Beriah; Hooker; Nathaniel; Henry. Wife Ruth died 15 days after the birth of her son Henry.

Nathaniel Bishop married second wife Nancy Pomeroy on March 2, 1797 in Middletown, Connecticut. They had one son, Pomeroy. Nancy died ten days after his birth.

Nathaniel married third wife Sally Landon, daughter of Ezekiel and Azuba Landon, April 1798 in Salisbury, Connecticut.

Nathaniel Bishop has been recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution as a Patriot because of his patriotic service as a Representative in the Massachusetts State Legislature. She married William Bailey at Madison, New Haven County, CT, USA, on 8 December 1781. John Bishop says that they were married at his father's house by the Rev. Jonathan Todd. Marriage date comes from their Pension File.. Rachel Bishop married Samuel Goodsell on 5 August 1827 at Burlington, Hartford County, CT, USA. Marriage date from the William Bailey Revolutionary War Pension file.. Rachel Bishop died on 24 January 1853 at Madison, New Haven County, CT.1 She was buried at Hammonassett Cemetery, at Madison, New Haven County, CT, USA.

     Rachel Bishop, according to the Bishop Genealogy married William Bailey (born 3 September 1763) who served in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Daniel Hand, Col. Talcott's Regt in 1776, and then on 26 May, 1777 in Capt. Humphrey's Co., 2nd CT Line.
