     The obituary of her daughter Grace, gives a name of Othilie Firchau and says that Grace had a step-sister Frieda Berndt.

     The Compiler gathered this material from the internet and can not support it except for the 1850 and 1860 census citation. Nothing is found of John, Catherine or Martha in later censuses.
It is likely that Mrtha and John were children of an earlier marriage.
